Striking that perfect work-life balance may be what every entrepreneur, especially mompreneurs, strive for.  In the past few weeks I’ve managed to find some sort of balance where I was picking my kids up early from school and daycare in order to have more time to enjoy the beautiful weather we have been getting in Montreal.  Now that the sun is up late into the night and school will be out for the summer at the end of this week, it’s time to switch to a summer schedule.  In the summer, I know the kids are having a blast at day camp, so I pick them up a little later.  This gives me an extra 10 to 12 hours a week for my business and multitude of projects that I take on.  Needless to say; my focus has been on planning.

You see, I have found that if I plan, I mean really take the time to plan projects with a timeline that fits my life, things don’t get overwhelming.  I know there is time for everything.   For each project, I write out the tasks to be completed, pick a due date for The Project based on the number of tasks required, then I fill my calendar with the due dates for each task.

The biggest drawback I find in planning is that it can be time-consuming.  However, one must keep in mind that time wasted figuring out what the next step is can be even more time-consuming.  How do you prefer spending your time? Productive or not?
